New Treatment Provides Lasting Musculoskeletal Pain Relief
Now introducing our unique - SmartChoice® Adult Stem Cell Procedures
for relief from orthopedic problems of spine, knees, hips, shoulders and other joints.
Get relief from nagging pain caused by Spine and Joint diseases like bulging and herniated disc, arthritis, sports injuries, tendon and ligament injuries.
This safe and effective procedure combines your own ( NOT embryonic) Adult stem cells from Bone Marrow and Fat with growth factors from Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) during the same procedure for optimum regenerative healing effect on Spine and Joint conditions.
We also use anti-aging hormone supplementation (only if medically indicated) and Dr. Sudha Challa specially formulated immune boosting complements before and after this procedure.

Platelet rich plasma (PRP) therapy has been used for many years in surgical centers worldwide. In the last ten years, doctors have begun injecting PRP apart from surgery for the regeneration of musculoskeletal tissues.
PRP is a revolutionary treatment that relieves pain by promoting long lasting healing of musculoskeletal conditions. This rapidly emerging technique is showing exciting potential with osteoarthritis of the knee, shoulder, hip and spine, rotator cuff tears, chronic plantar fasciitis, anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries, pelvic pain and instability, back and neck injuries, tennis elbow, ankle sprains, tendonitis, and ligament sprains.
We get many patients in the office that are curious about PRP therapy. Recent praise of this treatment plan has come from professional athletes like Tiger Woods, who went through PRP therapy injections to help him recover from an injured knee.
This treatment involves collecting blood from the patient, and then inserting the patient’s own platelets into the injured area to stimulate healing and regeneration. It’s these platelets that are the center of PRP therapy.
After consulting Dr Sudha Challa M.D. and deciding that PRP treatment is appropriate for your condition, you will then be asked to give blood. Your own blood will be put in a centrifuge, which is a device that allows the blood to separate the platelet components from the others. This separated blood is what we call the platelet rich plasma.
Once separated, it is injected into the injured area under a very advanced ultra-sound system to target the injections exactly where the problem lies. The injection technique is identical to prolotherapy/regenerative injection therapy, only the solution injected is different. Same instrument, different music.

How does PRP therapy help?
The body’s first response to soft tissue injury is to deliver platelet cells. Packed with growth and healing factors, platelets initiate repair and attract the critical assistance of stem cells. PRP therapy’s natural healing process intensifies the body’s efforts by delivering a higher concentration of platelets. To create PRP therapy, a small sample of your blood is drawn (similar to a lab test sample) and placed in a centrifuge that spins the blood at high speeds, separating the platelets from the other components. The concentrated platelet rich plasma (PRP) is then injected into and around the point of injury, jump-starting and significantly strengthening the body’s natural healing signal. Because your own blood is used, there is no risk of a transmissible infection and a very low risk of allergic reaction.
How long does it take?
The procedure takes approximately one to two hours, including preparation and recovery time. Performed safely in a medical office, PRP therapy relieves pain without the risks of surgery, general anesthesia, or hospital stays and without a prolonged recovery. In fact, most people return to their jobs or usual activities right after the procedure.
How often should this procedure be done?
Three to five injections may be given within a six-month time frame, usually performed two to four weeks apart. You may, however, gain considerable to complete relief after the first or second injection.
What are the expected results?
Because the goal of PRP therapy is to resolve pain through healing, it could prove to have lasting results. Initial improvement may be seen within a few weeks, gradually increasing as the healing progresses. Research studies and clinical practice have shown PRP therapy to be very effective at relieving pain and returning patients to their normal lives. Both ultrasound and MRI images have shown definitive tissue repair after PRP therapy, confirming the healing process. The need for surgery can also be greatly reduced by treating injured tissues before the damage progresses and the condition is irreversible.
